Oscars were held yesterday night and stars showed up and showed out.  I wasn’t happy with a lot of looks on the red carpet, but there were quite a few that proved to be winners.   Some of them didnt make the show, but they showed up at parties and killed.

Janet Jackson has been making her rounds at fashion week.   She was seen at Vivienne Westwood and Todd Lynn just to name a few.   She’s rocking her older, business casual chic look, natural makeup and her real hair. Definitely getting older, but still a banger.    Ugh , what a class act

Rihanna has released the fourth single off her “Rated R” cd.   This track was an instant standout to me when I first hear the CD.  Though I always pictured this single being released in the summer, I really am happy that they have released this track.  The video was directed by Melina and once again doesn’t disappoint.   Channeling her dancehall roots and even giving us a taste of the old Rihanna in one clip, I was completely excited.    I still am.   Check it out for yourself.

FresherThanChris.com was invited to the Smirnoff sponsored Subsessions: A journey through hip hop.    The event was held at the NewYork Transit Museum in Brooklyn Heights.  It was hosted by Biz Markie, Jermaine Dupri and Peanut Butter Wolf.  As the drinks were poured and passed,  tastemakers and trendsetters were treated to the DJ stylings of Jermaine Dupri.  The event was a part of the SMIRNOFF THERE initiative.

FresherThanChris.com is very sad to learn that Teddy Pendergrass has passed away.   He was 59 years old.  According to reports,  Teddy had undergone surgery for colon cancer 8 months ago and never fully recovered. Our hearts and prayers go out to his family during this rough time.
Damn. I’m so sad.   This man is probably one of the reasons I was conceived.
