Last night, as I had a drink of Hennessy Black, and I thought about the pictures I saw of Sammy Sosa. Now I don’t follow a particular team or claim to be a fanatic of any particular athlete, but I know ENOUGH about sports to recognize players and team mates. When I saw the aforementioned pictures, I was at a loss for words. All I could think of was that Kanye line and shake my head at this situation.
According to the Associated Press, Now Sammy Sosa claims that he is not going through some rejuvenation process with his skin and his skin color as is, is only temporary. He claims that he looked lighter than he does in real life due to lighting and such. He even goes on to say that he isn’t trying to look like Michael Jackson and doesn’t have vitiligo. Well, shoot, Michael (God rest his soul) wasn’t trying to look Michael Jackson either.
Now, I’ve seen situations when bad lighting and make up happened to good people, as you can clearly see above this statement, however I’m not blaming lighting for what Sammy Sosa gave. Whatever is going with Sammy is a fail. How do you go from having the skin tone of Jennifer Hudson to having the skin tone of Kate Hudson (C) foxxfiles. Seriously.. what the hell happened? I’m all for guys taking care of their skin and seeking facial treatments, but if this treatment of transcending race in 6 month and going from chocolate to vanilla is the new and freshest craze, count me out.
I wish Sammy a speedy recovery and hope to never see this again.
